NORAD Tracks Santa with Google Earth - Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all of our friends and families;

More than presents our family enjoys the excitement that Santa Claus is coming and become restless as Christmas Eve approaches and Santa takes off from the North Pole.  As we all are busy taking off to the Mall, Friends and Family outings we just want to take a minute to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Holiday Season.

I just went to North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) to check on the update of Santa’s arrival here in North America and noticed that this year Google Earth will be assisting in the process of tracking and protecting Santa as he enters the North America Airspace.  If you track Santa as close as we do in our house be sure to download Google Earth before Monday (http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html).  Of course we still find it easier and fun as we go to bed to call NORAD Santa Tracking and Command Center at (719) 556-5211 or (877) Hi-NORAD and talk to the volunteers that help make this project possible.

For over 50 years NORAD has been “guarding what you value most” - http://www.norad.mil/50/index.html.  Canadian NORAD fighter pilots, flying the CF-18, take off out of Newfoundland to intercept and welcome Santa to North America. Then at numerous locations in Canada other CF-18 fighter pilots escort Santa. While in the United States, American NORAD fighter pilots in either the F-15 or F-16 get the thrill of flying with Santa.  To find out more and to get ready to track Santa, visit http://www.noradsanta.org/en/how.htm.

Merry Christmas from our family to your family,

Alan & Angie, Rigel and Rhea
