Ice Cream in a Bag

Join us this week as we hike down Crystal Cove at El Moro (just South of Reef Point and the Southern most Parking Lot) as we celebrate National Ice Cream Week by making some of our own.  In 1984, President Reagan designated the third Sunday of July (July 20) as National Ice Cream Day

Please come out and have fun this Thursday and help us make ice the only way Boy Scouts know how - in a Bag!

If you want more information then you will have to join us.

Supplies:

Please have your Scout pack his backpack with items needed for a day hike, including but not limited to, Bear Handbook, water and some trail food (homemade, if possible) for a small hike.  Please note the path down to the Beach is steep.

Achievements:

9 - What’s Cooking? (page 80)

Time:

We will meet from 6:30 to sunset at Crystal Cove.  From Mission Viejo you can take either El Toro to Laguna Canyon Rd or Highway 73.

From Laguna Canyon Rd turn right on PCH or take Cliff Dr to bypass the intersection of Broadway and PCH.  Once on PCH drive about 3 miles North to Reef Point Drive (outside of City Limits) and turn left.

From Highway 73 you will exit Newport Coast Drive and turn left.  Drive 4 miles to PCH and turn left.  Once on PCH drive about 1.5 miles South to Reef Point Drive (just pass shopping complex on left) and turn right.
