Special Note

Camp Volunteers are only on site from 9A – 3P on Saturday; however, they are volunteers and some activities may be adjusted in order to accommodate their schedules.

All Akelas MUST accompany their Scout onto and near the water and every Scout should be comfortable in and around the water along with being able to maneuver in the water 25 yards.  Oso Lake is a reclaimed water site and entering the water is NOT allowed.  Each Scout will be secured in a PFD (Personal Floatation Device) at all times when near the water edge and/or canoeing.  A PFD is not for comfort and must be securely tighten to the Scout in order to prevent accidental removal.  Both Mr. Clem and I have taken Safety Afloat to be able to conduct this activity; however, each Akela will be instructed on water safety.
