Doheny Beach Graduation Ceremony

Thank you all for making it to the event!  It was a lot of fun and another great event.

Special Congratulations to some of our Scouts for earning the World Conservation Award!

Through community service project involvement and understanding things from birds to fish our Scouts took their conservation efforts to the highest level in Cub Scouting.  With such high involvement within this area I am in the process of taking steps to Officially Adopt Doheny Beach!  Through Surfrider Foundation and the California Coastal Commission we have a great opportunity to give back to the community in service hours through the Adopt-a-Beach Program.

This program will require us to select three (3) dates throughout the year to commit our Scouts for Beach Clean Up.  Along with the Memorial Day Flag Place this addition would allow our group to fulfill at least 10 hours a year per Scout in service related projects geared towards the Good Turn for America Program.  I will keep everyone posted on this development.

With that I am finalizing the Summer Scouting Program and I want to ask, is everyone ready for some Boogie Boarding?

Again, I want to thank everyone for an awesome year so far and look forward to a great summer program.
