On behalf of the Orange County Council, Boy Scouts of America, Pack 766, Den 6 I want to extend our personal thanks to the Mayor, Council, City Staff, Parents and others for helping make the City Council Meeting on December 3rd a once in a lifetime opportunity for the Scouts.
Leading the Pledge of Allegiance may seem like a simple task to some people; however, for a second grade student (Wolf Scout) to go before a live audience and a governmental body to perform such a task is truly commendable. The Scouts presented themselves in a very professional manner during the meeting and throughout the entire event. From waiting until all members of the audience stood through introducing themselves to all those in attendance and the Community of Mission Viejo these Scouts were flawless. Thanks to the Mayor for extending the open arms of the City in making the event truly memorable.
Scouting uses fun programs to promote character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness for every member. Throughout the next year we will focus on each one of the 12 Core Values of Cub Scouting and we look forward to having an exciting year in 2008.
Lastly, I want to express thanks to the Scouts for demonstrating to the Community of Mission Viejo the Quality of Character in Citizenship.
